LEVEL 1 BEGINNER

LEVEL 1 OUTLINE

This level is for adults and kids who have never sewn before. You'll learn how to use a sewing machine and create your first clothing pieces from start to finish.

No overwhelming patterns or techniques.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

  • How to use a sewing machine

  • Sewing straight lines

  • Basic finishing techniques

  • Working with simple patterns

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN LEVEL 1 KITS:

  • Pre-selected easy to sew fabric

  • Notions and supplies (thread, elastic, etc)

  • Beginner-friendly projects

  • Step-by-step instructions

  • Optional video guidance

  • Ongoing support online or in person as you learn

WHEN WILL YOU MOVE ON TO LEVEL 2? 

When you have completed five level 1 pieces comfortably.

LEVEL 2 INTERMEDIATE

LEVEL 2 OUTLINE

Now you're a confident sewist. You've completed level 1 and are now comfortable with the basics - now it's time to level up! You'll start working on more structured garments and new techniques

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

  • Working with more detailed patterns

  • Working with more fabric types

  • Adding structure to garments

  • Adding facings

  • Basic closures (zippers and buttons)

  • Intro to pockets

  • More precise finishing

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN LEVEL 2 KITS:

  • Pre-selected fabrics

  • Notions (zippers, buttons, etc.)

  • Step-by-step instructions

  • Optional video guidance

  • Ongoing support online or in person as you learn

WHAT TYPES OF CLOTHING WILL YOU SEW:

  • More complex dresses

  • Tops with more shape and more 

  • Skirts with added details

  • Simple pants

WHEN WILL YOU MOVE ON TO LEVEL 3? 

When you have completed five level 2 pieces comfortably.

LEVEL 3 ADVANCED

Now you're a confident beginner. You've completed level 1 and are now comfortable with the basics - now it's time to level up! You'll start working on more structured garments and new techniques

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

  • Working with more complex patterns

  • Advanced pattern hacking to create new designs 

  • Partial and fully lined clothing

  • Advanced zipper and pocket techniques

  • Dart manipulation

  • Alteration techniques

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN LEVEL 3 KITS:

  • Pre-selected fabrics

  • Notions (zippers, buttons, etc.)

  • Step-by-step instructions

  • Optional video guidance

  • Ongoing support online or in person as you learn

  • More form fitting dresses with linings
